Creag Phàdraig

Creag Phàdraig is a managed Forestry and Land Scotland woodland destination on the western edge of Inverness, offering accessible forest trails and the atmospheric remains of an ancient hillfort. Dogs are welcome in the woods, making it a practical choice for a quick outdoor visit without the drive to the Highlands proper. The site includes marked trails through mixed woodland, with the hillfort remains adding a sense of history to the walk.

There's an on-site car park with no parking charge, so you can arrive, clip on the lead and head straight into the trees. Dogs should be kept under control and on a lead where wildlife or livestock are present, following standard Forestry and Land Scotland guidance.

The site is open daily, with live visitor alerts available on the FLS website for any temporary restrictions. A good option for a short morning loop or an after-work sniff around the forest close to town.
