Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park is the biggest park in Oxford, which already tells you this is not just a quick leg-stretch patch with one bench and a bin. Up in the north of the city, it covers 42 hectares and mixes broad open space with sports facilities, ponds, meadow and riverside areas, so it feels more like a proper outdoor zone than a standard neighbourhood green.

There are two car parks, regular bus links and plenty of room to spread out, which makes it a practical as well as scenic choice. The council also highlights clubs, bookable facilities and a friends group, giving it that well-used community-park feel rather than a forgotten bit of grass.

A very solid pick for fresh air, longer wanders and letting the day breathe a little, with enough variety to keep both paws and people interested.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome for a park wander, but leads are the sensible move in busier areas so everyone, from joggers to ducks to children with unpredictable snack energy, gets to enjoy the space in peace.
