That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Dean’s Park is one of York’s gentler little breathing spaces, sitting right beside the Minster and offering some of the city’s best cathedral views without needing to plunge deeper into museum-mode sightseeing. It is a simple but lovely stop for a slower pause, with open green space, a central location and that classic York mix of history and calm. Good for a sit-down, a reset or a quick wander between busier attractions, it gives the Minster room to properly show off.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on the paths and green space. Keep York’s park peace intact by scooping promptly, sharing the space nicely and not letting the dog stage-manage the pigeons.
