Dog & Gun is a dog-friendly pub on Lake Road in central Keswick, with dogs welcome inside in the pub and bar areas. About 0.2 miles from the town centre, it is a handy stop for anyone staying in town or heading out for a walk towards Derwentwater.
This is the sort of pub that makes sense when the weather is behaving like the Lake District and sitting outside has stopped being a clever idea. Its central spot also makes it useful after a wander around Keswick, Hope Park or the nearby streets, especially when the dog has done a full inspection of every interesting smell on the way. The pub is walk-ins only, so no booking is needed.
Dogs need to stay on leads inside and outside, and water bowls are available — always helpful when a dog suddenly develops theatrical thirst the moment a human sits down. Town-centre parking is the practical option, as there is no on-site car park.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available
Doggy menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside in the pub and bar areas, and leads are required both indoors and out — so the usual under-table negotiations can proceed in comfort. Water bowls are available on request.
