Drayman's Son is a compact micropub tucked into central Ely, serving a rotating lineup of cask, keg and cider in a trim, no-frills setting. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in for a pint without the usual pavement negotiations. It's the sort of spot where your dog can park under the table and nobody bats an eyelid.

The pub operates Tuesday to Saturday, with afternoons and evenings covered, plus a tidy Sunday afternoon window. There's no customer parking on site, but you're a few minutes' stroll from the centre of Ely, so the walk in doubles as the pre-pint circuit.

This is a proper micropub: think changing taps, small footprint and a friendly crowd rather than sprawling snug corners. If you're after a quick, central stop where dogs are part of the furniture, Drayman's Son ticks the box without fuss.

Good to know:

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside the micropub, a neat stop for a pint with your dog under the table. Nobody needs to volunteer for pavement duty.
