Drummer Boy Tearoom is a central Richmond café on Finkle Street, a short walk from the market place. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in for breakfast, morning coffee, homemade cakes or a light lunch without the awkward pavement wait. The tearoom runs from 9 a.m.

To 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday to Sunday; it's closed on Tuesdays. The menu centres on traditional tea-room fare—scones, cakes, sandwiches and hot drinks—served in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that suits both locals and visitors.

Indoor seating means your dog can supervise the table while you tackle a cream tea or a proper breakfast. It's the kind of place that makes a Richmond shopping trip or market-day stop much easier when you've got a lead in one hand and a tray in the other.
