The Duke of Cumberland is a historic pub hotel on Whitstable's High Street, where dogs are welcome inside the bar area. Food is served throughout the day, so the whole group can settle in for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal without anyone waiting on the pavement.

The bar opens at 8am daily, with the kitchen running until 9pm most nights (8pm on Sundays). The courtyard offers outdoor seating when the weather plays along, and dogs are welcome there too. No on-site parking, but public car parks on Victoria Street and Keam's Yard are close by.

Whitstable's high street and coastal paths are a short walk away, making this a well-timed pause between sniff stops or a proper base for a coastal dog day. Dogs are welcome in the bar and courtyard — just not in the restaurant.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome in the bar and courtyard — paws under the table, nose pointed hopefully at the kitchen. The restaurant is the one area kept dog-free, so plan accordingly.
