Duke of York Whitby is a historic inn right by the bottom of the 199 Steps, combining pub atmosphere, food service and rooms in one of the town’s most characterful spots. It has that classic Whitby formula of old-town setting, easy access to the harbour and plenty of built-in atmosphere before you even get to the menu. For visitors, it is a handy all-rounder for drinks, a meal or a stay, especially if the plan involves walking off fish and chips before immediately earning another round.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, and this pub even has a dedicated dog-friendly page and dog menu. A very easy Whitby stop for sitting down with the dog still part of the outing.
