Dunstaffnage Castle and Chapel is a Historic Environment Scotland castle near Oban, set in wooded grounds with a ruined chapel, gatehouse and historic stone walls. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, including the paths, gravel and grass routes around the castle and the rough earth track leading to the chapel. The castle routes include steep steps, so plan accordingly if your dog is less confident on uneven ground.

The site is open daily from 9:30am to 4:00pm, making it a proper half-day heritage visit rather than a quick walk. Assistance dogs are welcome in the roofed areas; ordinary pet dogs stay outdoors. It's a genuine castle visit with your dog at your side, exploring the wooded grounds and medieval ruins together.

Visitor parking is available at the end of the road to the castle, with a smaller parking area behind the castle for limited mobility visitors. The castle is located at Dunbeg, around three miles from Oban.
