That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Edensor Tea Cottage feels exactly like the sort of tearoom people hope to stumble across after a countryside wander: cosy, welcoming and full of proper homemade comfort. Set inside a characterful old cottage, it leans into that slower, relaxed atmosphere where tea arrives in proper pots, cake choices become unexpectedly difficult, and dogs quietly settle in like they’ve claimed the place for the afternoon.

Dogs are genuinely part of the experience here too. Water bowls, free treats, a dedicated doggy menu and even dog beds help make it feel less like “dogs allowed” and more like “dogs considered at every step”. It’s the sort of place where muddy paws are understood, tired walkers are restored, and everyone leaves slightly happier than when they arrived.

Whether you stop for coffee and cake or settle in for a longer lunch, it has that warm, easygoing energy that turns a quick pause into a much longer stay.
