Ego at The Grapes is a Mediterranean-style pub and restaurant in Bicton Heath, a few miles from central Shrewsbury, offering freshly cooked food, cocktails, local cask ale and a dog-friendly indoor area. It sounds like a good all-rounder when you want something a little more polished than a quick pub stop but still relaxed enough to bring the dog along.

The menu leans broader and more restaurant-led, which makes it useful for anything from lunch and Sunday roasts to family meals and catch-ups with a bit more ceremony. Dogs are welcomed into a designated dog-friendly area with water and treats, which is exactly the sort of detail TDFM readers care about. Open daily from 11am to 11pm, with ample parking on site.
