England’s Glory is a traditional Gloucester pub on London Road, named after the city’s famous match-making history. It has the feel of a proper local: friendly, familiar and built around the things people actually want from a pub, including drinks, food, sport, live music, pool, darts, skittles and space to settle in without fuss.
The pub has had a fresh refurbishment in recent years, while still keeping that community-pub character. Inside, you’ll find large screen TVs, games, an open fire, a function room and a skittles alley, so it works for everything from a quiet pint to a livelier evening where the dog realises this “quick drink” is becoming a full pub operation.
Dogs are welcome inside, with fresh water and dog treats kept under the bar for four-legged visitors. It is the kind of easy, practical dog-friendly stop that makes a Gloucester pub visit feel simple: humans get the drinks, dogs get the treats, and everyone leaves thinking the arrangement was perfectly sensible.
