The Erskine Arms is a historic pub with rooms nestled within the medieval walls of Conwy, a short walk from Conwy Castle and the town's famous smallest house. Dogs are welcome inside the bar area, so the whole party — paws included — can settle in together rather than anyone doing the pavement shuffle outside.
The bar is open seven days a week from noon, with food served Monday to Saturday until 9pm and Sunday until 8pm. The menu leans on local and seasonal produce, from hearty pub classics to Sunday roasts, alongside Welsh ales and a decent wine list. Bar tables are first come, first served, so no advance booking is needed — just turn up and find a spot.
Conwy's castle walls, harbour and walking routes are right on the doorstep, making this a handy base for a dog-friendly day out in North Wales. When the weather turns, the bar's open fires and cosy corners make it an easy place to linger a little longer than planned.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available
Doggy menu available
Dog Policy:
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the bar area and outside courtyard — water bowls are on hand, so thirsty noses are covered. Dogs aren't permitted in the guest bedrooms, but the bar is a genuinely welcoming spot for a post-walk pint.
