Days Out Are For Dogs Too

You’ll spot our Recommended Partner badge on some listings (opposite the venue name)
That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Fairfield Nature Reserve is a proper pocket of calm when Lancaster feels a bit too… Lancaster. It's the kind of green space that lets your dog swap pavement sniffs for grass, trees and that glorious "I can hear birds" quiet. The paths are easy for a gentle wander, with plenty of spots to pause, breathe, and let your dog do the important work of reading the morning's sniff-news.
You'll often feel pleasantly tucked away, even though you're not far from the city, and it's brilliant for a decompression loop when you want nature without needing a full expedition. If your dog is the type to lock onto squirrels or get very excited by wildlife, keep the lead handy and bring treats for the "leave it" negotiations.
Pack a flask, take it slow, and enjoy the reset. It's the kind of place that reminds you why a simple walk with your dog can be exactly what both of you needed.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on lead, so bring treats for the squirrel negotiations and a bag for the usual tidy-up duties.
