Falkland Palace & Garden is a magnificent historic palace and garden destination in Fife, within easy reach of St Andrews. Managed by the National Trust for Scotland, the estate offers self-guided and guided tours of the palace interior, alongside beautifully maintained gardens, a physic garden, orchard and outdoor grounds that make for a substantial day out. Dogs on a short lead are welcome throughout the garden and outdoor areas, so your four-legged companion can enjoy the grounds while you explore the historic setting.
The palace interior permits only assistance dogs, but the garden itself is the real draw for dog owners—there's plenty of space to wander together. The palace is open daily 11:00–17:00, while the garden and shop welcome visitors from 09:30–17:00.
Free parking is available in a nearby public car park, signposted from the palace. This is a rare chance to combine Scottish heritage with a proper dog-friendly wander in one of Fife's most celebrated outdoor spaces.
