The Farmers Arms is a traditional roadside inn in Brompton on Swale, a few miles north-west of Richmond, where dogs are welcome inside the bar and dining area. It's a proper pub with food served throughout the week, making it useful for walkers, A1 or A66 travellers and anyone exploring the quieter villages around Richmond with their dog in tow. Food is available Monday to Saturday from noon until 8.30pm and on Sundays until 5pm.

The menu runs from lunchtime classics to evening plates and your dog can settle at your table while the humans refuel. Opening hours are noon to 10pm Sunday to Thursday and until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

It's the kind of spot that works when you need a sit-down meal rather than a grab-and-go and the whole group—dog included—can stay inside whatever the weather. Handy for Swale-side visitors who want a proper break without leaving the dog outside.
