Farmyard in St Leonards (Hastings) is a restaurant, wine bar and wine shop with a seasonal, local-produce focus and a reputation for great roasts. Dogs are welcome inside, which makes it feel like a rare grown-up treat that still includes the whole pack.

The menu leans on local suppliers and changes with the seasons, and the wine list runs to natural and low-intervention bottles you can enjoy at your table or take home. It's open Monday and Tuesday 12–2.30pm and 6–11pm, closed Wednesday, Thursday 12–2.30pm and 6–11pm, Friday 12–2.30pm and 5–11pm, Saturday 12–3pm and 5–11pm, and Sunday 12–4pm for roasts. Book ahead if you can, because just popping in often meets sorry, we're full.

It's the kind of place where you can settle in for a proper meal without leaving anyone on pavement duty, and where dogs on leads can snooze under the table while their humans work through seasonal plates and a very good wine list.

Good to know:

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Please keep dogs on a lead and off the seating.
