Fenham Carr is woodland therapy with a side of adventure, tucked near Lancaster's greener edges and ideal when your dog needs a proper sniffy mission. It's a wilder-feeling walk than your average park loop, with trees, undergrowth and that earthy, ferny smell that makes dogs go serious about their job.
You can keep it short and potter, or link it into a longer wander if you've got a dog with endless batteries and a human who packed snacks. It's especially good on brighter days when the light filters through the canopy and everything feels a bit storybook, even if your dog is dragging you toward every interesting stick.
Do keep an eye out for muddy patches after rain and be ready for the occasional "why is my dog suddenly proud of being filthy?" moment. It's a great place to let the brain quiet down while paws do the exploring.
