That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Tucked into Winterton-on-Sea just minutes from the dunes, The Fishermans Return is the kind of proper brick-and-flint pub that makes a beach day feel complete. Inside it’s warm, unfussy and happily dog-normal, with well-behaved pups welcome indoors while you thaw out and pretend you’re not still sandy. Drinks-wise, expect real ales on the bar (plus Old Rosie cider for the “why not” crowd).
Food is freshly cooked and leans local, with fish featuring heavily thanks to the pub’s seaside postcode and ever-changing specials. It’s a solid shout after a long walk, when the dog has that proud, windswept look and you just want a plate of something comforting and a seat that doesn’t move.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside (and in the rooms too, at no extra charge). Keep them on a lead, park wet paws politely, and expect the classic pub moment where the dog “settles”… directly in the busiest walkway. Water bowls and the occasional treat may appear like magic.
