Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve is a managed wildlife reserve on the edge of Catterick Garrison, close enough to Richmond for an easy dog-friendly day out. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead across the reserve, along the network of paths and inside the hides, making it a proper outdoor destination rather than just a walk. The Field Centre is open Monday to Friday and Sunday, with the reserve itself open seven days a week.
The reserve offers birdwatching hides, footpaths through varied habitats and a visitor information shelter. Parking is available close to the Field Centre, with designated bays adjacent to the information shelter. Opening hours run Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and weekends and bank holidays 10am to 4pm.
Because the reserve sits within a military facility, visitors must obtain a pass at the main entrance. Group visits and guided walks need booking in advance. The reserve is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
