Front Street Tap House in Whitley Bay is a dog-friendly micropub with a straightforward real-ale focus and an easy, neighbourhood atmosphere. Dogs are welcome inside, so everyone can settle in together without the pavement-waiting shuffle. It has the kind of stripped-back pub feel that suits a pint, a chat and a slower pace rather than anything overly polished or fussy.

Good for a local stop with proper pub bones, it feels welcoming and unpretentious, with the sort of setting where people settle in rather than rush through. The real-ale focus keeps things simple and the atmosphere stays relaxed. Open Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 2pm to 10pm, and Friday to Saturday from 2pm to 11:30pm, closed Mondays.

A solid option for dog people after a drink stop that feels relaxed, simple and properly pub-shaped. Paws and people can enjoy the straightforward, no-fuss welcome together. Street parking is available nearby on Front Street.
