Geilston Garden

Geilston Garden is a historic National Trust for Scotland garden in Cardross, about 18 miles north-west of Glasgow. Sheltered by mature woodland and laid out in the early 19th century, the grounds include seasonal planting beds, shaded paths and open lawns – the sort of place where a gentle potter on the lead feels purposeful rather than just circling the block. Dogs are welcome in the garden on all days except Tuesdays and must stay on a leash throughout.

The walled garden, kitchen garden and children's adventure area are off limits, so plan your route around those. Grazing livestock may be present in outlying areas, so keep an eye on your dog if you wander beyond the main visitor paths. The garden is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm (last entry 4 pm), but closes for the winter from early November to late February.

Parking is available next to the reception hut. Admission is charged: adults £10, concessions £7.50, children £5, with family tickets available.
