Gheluvelt Park

Gheluvelt Park in Worcester is a WWI memorial park set around Barbourne Brook, with two distinct areas: a formal park to the east and a riverside conservation area to the west stretching towards the River Severn. It is one of the city's most characterful green spaces, combining heritage atmosphere with genuine everyday dog-walking appeal.

Dogs are welcome throughout the park, though leads are required in the formal park east of Barbourne Brook. The formal park is open dawn till dusk; the riverside conservation area is open around the clock. Free parking is available at the Waterworks Road car park. Dogs are not permitted on the Splashpad, so it is worth bearing that in mind on busy summer days. The Victorian Pump House at the Waterworks Road entrance is now home to Kyndfolk, a café and community hub — handy for a post-walk coffee.

Whether it is a brisk morning circuit along the brook or a slower afternoon wander through the conservation grassland, Gheluvelt Park gives paws and people plenty to work with — heritage, greenery, ducks, and enough sniff-worthy variety to make even a familiar route feel worthwhile.
