Gibside is a National Trust landscape garden and historic estate just outside Durham, with 15 miles of woodland and estate paths open to dogs all year. Your dog is welcome across most of the grounds on lead and there's a dedicated off-lead area beside the Stables where they can stretch their legs properly. The estate café and coffee shop welcome dogs inside and out, so you can both settle in for a cuppa after a long walk without the lead-and-bag juggle in the rain.
Only assistance dogs are allowed into the Chapel and dogs must stay on the floor in café areas. Open 10:00–17:00 with last entry one hour before closing, Gibside is built for a proper dog day out.
Keep dogs on a lead across most of the estate, but extendable leads are fine except on the Skyline Walk where livestock may be grazing. Free car parking is available on site.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on lead across most of the estate, with an off-lead area beside the Stables. Dogs can join you inside or outside the café and coffee shop; only assistance dogs are allowed in the Chapel.
