Good For Books, along with The Garage, is a brilliant rummage destination in Horncastle for anyone who loves a bargain and doesn't mind leaving with their arms full. It's secondhand-book heaven with that lucky-dip feeling, where every shelf suggests "one more look" and dogs are welcome inside, so the whole household can settle in for a proper browse.

The Garage is open daily 10am-4pm with books at 50p each or three for £1, while the Main Bookshop opens Saturdays 10am-4pm or weekdays by appointment. The dog can wait patiently while the human digs for hidden gems, emerging with a stack that was absolutely necessary and definitely not impulsive. Expect that nostalgic bookshop smell, plenty of surprises, and the familiar moment when the owner realises they came in for one title and somehow adopted six.

It's perfect for slow afternoons, rainy-day wandering, and anyone who enjoys the gentle chaos of treasure hunting. The dog won't judge. The dog never judges.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Free treats available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while you hunt for hidden gems and emerge with a stack you definitely didn't plan on.
