Indoor Welcome Last Verified:

8 Aug 2026

Gordale Garden and Home Centre is a large destination garden centre near Chester where dogs are welcome inside, provided they travel in one of the trolleys. The indoor and outdoor shopping areas stock plants, garden supplies and homewares, and the trolley policy applies throughout your visit.

It's a practical setup for dog owners who want to browse without leaving their dog at home, though you'll need a calm passenger willing to ride along while you shop. The centre is open Monday to Saturday 9am–6pm and Sunday 11am–5pm, with free parking for over 500 cars. An on-site coffee shop serves breakfasts, hot meals, sandwiches and homemade cakes, though dogs aren't allowed in the café or food hall.

Gordale offers the full garden-centre experience with your dog beside you—or rather, in the trolley beside you. It's an honest compromise that keeps everyone together and the aisles clear, and means the browse can be part of the same outing rather than ending in another doorway handover.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside and outdoors, provided they remain in one of the trolleys throughout your visit. Dogs aren't allowed in the coffee shop or food hall, but the trolley policy means nobody needs to wait on the pavement while the other half browses.
