Great Central Railway is a heritage steam railway in Ruddington, just south of Nottingham, offering an eight-mile line, indoor museum displays, model railway and on-site café. Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the site, including the indoor exhibition areas, making it one of the few heritage railways where your dog can join you for the full day out. The railway runs steam and diesel services on operating days, with special events throughout the year.

Site entry is free, with train fares applying separately. There's ample on-site parking at £3 per visit, including dedicated disabled bays.

Well-behaved dogs travel alongside you through the museum and model railway displays and can accompany you around the outdoor visitor site. It's a proper dog-friendly attraction where no one has to sit outside while the rest of the group explores indoors.
