Great Orme Mines in Conwy is a Bronze Age copper mine visitor attraction where dogs are welcome on all areas of the site, including the underground tour. The experience takes in a visitor centre, a film introduction, the underground route through ancient workings, surface excavations and a smelting shelter and your dog can join you throughout.
The attraction opens daily at 09:30 with last entry at 16:30, running seasonally until the end of October. Tickets can be bought online or on the day and there's a visitor car park on site.
The underground section involves metal grates and staircases that may not suit every dog, so it's worth weighing up your own dog's confidence with those features before you head down. Great Orme Mines offers an unusual day out for dog owners near Conwy: not many heritage attractions let dogs join the whole experience and the chance to explore 4,000-year-old workings together makes this one particularly memorable.
