The Great Orme Tramway in Llandudno is a heritage cable tramway that climbs from the town centre to the summit of the Great Orme, offering a distinct visitor attraction and transport experience along the North Wales coast. Dogs are welcome on the journey, making it a brilliant way to reach the top with your four-paws in tow rather than tackling the long climb on foot.

Well-behaved dogs travel on leads and while assistance dogs go free, other dogs pay a small fee. The tramway itself is the main event here – a vintage cable-hauled ride with proper heritage charm – and dogs can join you for the whole ascent.

It's a short hop from Llandudno's seafront, so you can easily fold the tramway into a coastal day out. The summit opens up access to walking routes and open headland, though the tram ride alone is worth it for the novelty and the logistics-saving lift to the top.
