Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Greenway is a National Trust house and garden on the banks of the River Dart near Dartmouth, once the holiday home of Agatha Christie. Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden, boathouse, shop and café, making it a proper day out where you and your dog can explore together rather than taking turns back at the car. The garden stretches down to the river with winding paths, terraced borders and woodland walks, all dog-friendly on lead.
The boathouse by the water, the shop and the café all welcome dogs, so you can stop for a drink or a wander without having to leave them outside. The house interior is for assistance dogs only. Parking must be booked in advance if you're arriving by car, or you can take the ferry from Dartmouth or Dittisham and arrive by river.
It's a scenic approach and saves the parking puzzle. Note that some paths are steep or narrow, so keep leads handy and take your time on the slopes.
