That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Grosvenor Park, overlooking the River Dee in Chester, is the kind of place where a simple walk stretches into something slower, greener, and quietly lovely. The dog hears birds in the trees, the distant whistle of the miniature railway, and the soft buzz of people settling into park life.
This beautifully restored Victorian park is one of Chester's standout spaces, with sweeping lawns, winding paths, and landscaped corners that invite a proper wander. There's room for leg-stretching loops, shady pauses, and those "just one more lap" moments before heading home. In summer, the Open Air Theatre adds a little extra magic, while the Lodge Café keeps humans happily fuelled mid-walk.
It's an easy, go-with-the-flow kind of stop. The sort where leads stay on, but spirits feel off-duty.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome throughout the park on lead, especially around busy spots, events and family areas where noses and picnics tend to meet.
