Hafod Estate

Hafod Estate near Aberystwyth is a National Trust valley landscape of woodland trails, waterfalls and historic gardens where dogs are welcome across the estate's public outdoor areas countryside. The 18th-century picturesque estate opens to spectacular walking and sniffing grounds, with waymarked routes winding through ancient woodland and along the River Ystwyth. Mrs Johnes' Flower Garden offers a sheltered formal oasis with colourful seasonal planting.

Dogs may be off lead under control in the woodlands, but must stay on lead around livestock and throughout the gardens. The estate is open dawn to dusk daily, with an on-site car park and designated accessible parking at Mrs Johnes' Flower Garden and the Estate Office. Uneven terrain and steps feature on many routes, so plan accordingly.
