Ham House and Garden is a National Trust historic house and riverside estate in Richmond-upon-Thames, open daily from 10am to 4pm and offering a substantial day out for dog owners visiting the Windsor area. Dogs are welcome throughout the gardens and grounds all year round on short leads, with selected indoor access to the gift shop and the left-hand side of the Orangery Coffee Shop. The house interior is closed to ordinary dogs, with access reserved for assistance dogs only.

The 17th-century formal gardens, lawns and riverside landscape provide plenty of sniff-worthy territory and the partial café access means you can bring your dog inside for a coffee stop rather than leaving them tied outside. On-site parking is available.

Summer visitors should note that dogs are not allowed in Petersham meadow on the wider estate when cows are grazing. The estate makes a proper heritage destination for dog owners who enjoy exploring historic landscapes without leaving their four-legged companion at home and the thoughtful indoor access to shop and part of the café keeps the visit practical when you need refreshment or shelter.
