That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Handley Tap is Brew York at its freshest, set at the brewery’s Osbaldwick production site just outside the city centre. The appeal is firmly taproom-first, with a broad range of Brew York beers across keg and cask lines, from core favourites to newer limited releases poured just metres from where they’re brewed. It feels less like a traditional pub and more like a modern beer destination, with that slightly industrial, out-of-town edge and none of the city-centre squeeze.
Dogs aren’t just allowed here, they’re properly welcomed into the space. Water bowls are always out, free treats make an appearance, and there are dog blankets ready for those longer, settle-in-and-stay-a-while visits. It’s the kind of place where the humans get excited about the beer list and the dog quietly claims a cosy spot like they’ve been coming for years 🐾
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside. Fresh beer, calm dog, tidy lead: that is the winning formula here.
