Hardcastle Crags is a National Trust woodland valley near Ilkley, with miles of wooded paths, rocky streams and Gibson Mill at its heart. Dogs are welcome under close control in the woodland and on lead in the courtyard, café and ground floor of Gibson Mill, so the whole group can explore the trails and stop in for refreshments together. The Weaving Shed Café inside Gibson Mill serves food and hot drinks and dogs on lead are welcome on the ground floor and courtyard.
The valley itself offers proper walking territory with varied terrain and the mill adds exhibitions and a bookshop to the visit. National Trust car parks are on site, with Blue Badge parking available.
The woodland is open dawn to dusk and Gibson Mill and the café typically open 10:00–16:00, seven days a week from April to November and Friday to Sunday in winter. Livestock graze near some edges, so a short lead is advised in those areas and dogs are not permitted in the toilet block.
