Haughmond Hill is a Forestry England site just outside Shrewsbury that gives the town a more woodland-heavy walking option when you want to swap pavements for trees. It has parking on site, accessible spaces and the kind of broad outdoor setup that makes it useful for longer leg-stretches and fresh-air resets.

The hill offers the sort of walk that works well when the dog needs more than a quick loop and the humans want a walk that actually feels like a walk. Woodland outings also have the bonus of looking wholesome even when everyone is really just there to tire the dog out before lunch.

A strong choice for hillier, greener mileage with enough facilities to keep the logistics manageable and the sniff-heavy exploring properly satisfying.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on the walk, which makes this a great choice for woodland wandering and a proper leg-stretch near Shrewsbury. Expect sniff-heavy exploring, fresh-air mileage and a dog very much in their outdoorsy era.
