The Haunch of Venison is a historic pub on Minster Street in the heart of Salisbury's cathedral quarter and dogs are welcome inside in the downstairs pub area. That simple inclusion is especially useful when the weather turns or the day needs a proper sit-down pause.

It's a proper old stop for a pint with your four-legged companion tucked under the table and the central location makes it an easy break after exploring the city. Food is served throughout the week, so you can settle in for lunch or dinner without leaving your dog outside.

The pub opens from 11am daily, staying open until 11pm Monday to Thursday, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 10pm on Sundays. That straightforward access is the detail that turns a quick drink or meal into a genuine break for the whole group. It also removes the familiar doorway calculation over who waits outside with the dog while everyone else heads in.
