Heysham Heritage Centre in Morecambe is a small-but-mighty stop that makes the village feel richer the minute you walk in. It's run by the Friends of Heysham Heritage Centre, staffed by volunteers, and focused on helping visitors and locals understand the history of Heysham and the surrounding area. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while you browse.

Expect changing displays, local stories, and the sort of details that make your next wander through the village feel like you've unlocked the "behind the scenes" notes. It's a great pairing with a coastal walk or a potter around Heysham Head, especially if you like your days out with a side of context.

Check opening times before you go, because volunteer-led hours can vary. It's the kind of place that adds useful depth to a dog-friendly day out, and keeps paws and people together while you explore.
