Highfield Garden World is a large destination garden centre on Bristol Road in Whitminster, around 13 miles from Cheltenham, where dogs are welcome inside across the retail departments. You'll find an indoor planteria, home and giftware sections, a food hall and a pet shop, so there's plenty to browse with your dog in tow on wet days or when you're stocking up for the garden and home.

Well-behaved dogs are also allowed in the on-site restaurant, which means you can settle in for lunch or a coffee break without leaving them in the car. Dogs must be kept on lead and under control throughout and the usual food-counter restrictions apply.

It's the sort of place where a garden-centre run becomes an easy few hours out with the dog, combining practical shopping with the chance to keep everyone together. The pet department is a bonus if you need to pick up supplies while you're there.
