Holmwood

Holmwood is a striking National Trust for Scotland historic house with grounds and a café, just south of Glasgow city centre in Cathcart. Built in the 1850s to a design by Alexander "Greek" Thomson, it's a proper Victorian architectural treasure with accessible grounds where you and your dog can enjoy a quieter corner of the city. Dogs are welcome in the café and throughout the grounds, all on a lead.

Whether you're dropping in for a coffee after a local walk or planning a longer visit to explore the estate, it's a calm, practical spot that keeps everyone together. The grounds offer space to stretch legs without the stress of finding somewhere dog-friendly nearby. Open Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, from late March to early November.

Admission is £10 for adults, £7.50 concessions, £5 children and £25 families; National Trust members go free. Accessible and disabled parking is available at the rear of the house.
