That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A proper neighbourhood pub with a bit of history behind it, Hudson's Ale House is one of those places that works whether you're after a quick pint or a full sit-down after a walk.
Dating back to the 1800s, it's got that mix of old and new — original features like fireplaces sitting alongside a more modern, open feel inside. There's a good spread of beers and ales, plus a menu that leans into classic pub comfort with a few twists (including Greek street food from the kitchen).
Outside, there's a decent garden space that comes into its own on warmer days, while inside stays cosy enough when the weather turns. It's an easy, unfussy stop where you can settle in, stay a while, and let the day slow down a bit — the kind of place that fits neatly into a longer wander rather than rushing you back out the door.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside on lead, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle. Just keep paws settled and away from bar stools and busy walkways.
