Hughenden is a National Trust country estate near High Wycombe, about thirteen miles northeast of Windsor, where dogs on lead are welcome in the formal gardens, orchard, parkland walks, woodland and the Stableyard Café. The Victorian manor house itself is for assistance dogs only, but there's plenty outdoors for a proper Chilterns day out with your dog in tow. The gardens and parkland make a lovely mix of routes, from the terraced beds and orchard near the house to longer tracks through the estate woods.

Your dog stays on lead throughout, which keeps everyone safe when livestock or cattle appear in the parkland. The Stableyard Café is a useful pitstop where Dogs are welcome inside and there's an official visitor car park on site with parking included in your admission or membership.

Opening hours run 10am to 4pm every day, though individual areas such as the manor, garden and café may vary slightly in their timetables. It's a generous estate with enough variety to suit a sniff-heavy morning or a longer wander and the café stop means you won't be rushed off before you're ready.
