The Hunters Lodge Inn is a traditional Mendip pub on the A39 just outside Wells, with dogs welcome inside the bar and dining areas. It's a handy stop for walkers and cavers heading to or from Priddy and there's plenty of free on-site parking.
Food is served every day from 9am until 8.30pm, including breakfast from 9am to 11.30am, so whether you're after a proper cooked start or an early supper after a long walk, the timing works. Dogs can settle in by the fire while you eat and the relaxed pub atmosphere makes it easy to arrive muddy and hungry without fuss.
The long opening hours and central location between Wells and the Mendip plateau mean you can plan a day on the hills and still find hot food and a warm seat at the end of it. It's the kind of pub where wet paws and tired dogs are part of the scenery.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available
Doggy menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside the bar and dining areas. Food is served throughout the day, so the whole group can settle in by the fire.
