Ickworth Estate

Ickworth Estate is a grand National Trust historic estate just three miles from Bury St Edmunds, where dogs on leads are welcome to explore the parkland, woodland walks and Walled Garden. The estate centres on an imposing Georgian rotunda and West Wing complex, surrounded by acres of open grounds and mature woodland perfect for a proper dog day out.

Your dog can join you in the Porter's Lodge café for a sit-down break and there's dog water available across the estate's public outdoor areas. The house, West Wing and Italianate Garden are off limits to ordinary pet dogs, but the parkland, woodland trails and Walled Garden offer plenty of sniff-worthy territory to cover.

Large on-site car parks and overflow parking make arrival straightforward. Parkland opens from 09:00 to 17:00 daily and the café, gardens and welcome point run from mid-morning to late afternoon, giving you most of the day to roam the estate with your dog by your side.
