Inveraray Castle and Gardens is a heritage estate day out on the shores of Loch Fyne, where dogs are welcome to join you for a walk around the welcoming estate grounds. The castle itself and the formal gardens remain off-limits to dogs, but the grounds offer plenty of space to explore together on lead—and when you need a pause, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the tearoom too. The estate opens seasonally Thursday to Monday from late March through October, with visitor parking charged at £4 payable by card or the JustPark app.

Pre-booking is recommended during busy periods. Dogs must stay on lead throughout the grounds and because this is a working estate, some paths may close temporarily for livestock, deer management or forestry operations.

It's about twenty miles from Oban, making it a strong day-trip option when you want a proper visitor attraction that includes your dog in the outdoor sections. You'll miss the castle interiors and garden displays, but the grounds themselves and the welcome in the tearoom mean neither of you has to wait in the car.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome around the estate grounds on lead, excluding the Castle and Gardens. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in the tearoom.
