Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Kenfig National Nature Reserve is a large coastal reserve a few miles inland from Porthcawl, known for its dune landscape, Kenfig Pool and year-round wildlife interest. The reserve has a visitor centre, car park and coffee outlet, making it a proper destination for a day out rather than a quick green-space detour. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor reserve areas and routes, but must be kept on a lead at all times.
The reserve is home to grazing livestock and ground-nesting birds, so the on-lead rule applies across the site. No indoor access for ordinary pet dogs has been confirmed, so plan for an outdoor visit.
The reserve centre is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00, giving you a midday window for refreshments and facilities. With a substantial network of paths and the striking backdrop of the pool and dunes, it's a rewarding walk for patient, on-lead explorers who don't mind sharing the landscape with sheep and skylarks.
