The Kent & East Sussex Railway is a heritage steam railway running between Tenterden and Bodiam, offering scenic vintage train journeys through the Weald of Kent and East Sussex. Dogs are welcomed on standard timetabled Bodiam services, making it a proper day out for steam-train enthusiasts who'd rather not leave the dog at home. Station parking is available and the journey itself is the attraction.
Your dog travels on the floor on a short lead and can join you in standard seating throughout the scenic route. The Colonel Stephens Railway Museum, Wealden Pullman dining train, catering areas and First Class accommodation are all off-limits to dogs, so plan accordingly if you're hoping to explore everything on site. Special events may impose additional restrictions, so it's worth checking the timetable and any event-specific rules before you travel.
The railway operates on a seasonal timetable rather than fixed weekly hours, so services vary by date. It's a straightforward, nostalgic train ride where the dog gets the same vintage view as everyone else.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcomed on standard timetabled Bodiam services and must stay on the floor on a short lead. They're not permitted in the Colonel Stephens Railway Museum, Wealden Pullman dining train, catering areas or First Class accommodation; special events may impose additional restrictions.
