Keswick Launch

Keswick Launch runs timetabled Derwentwater lake cruises from the boat landings on Lake Road, offering a 50-minute circular cruise and hop-on hop-off services between multiple jetties around the lake. Dogs are welcome on board the timetabled launches, which makes this a genuinely useful dog-friendly outing in central Keswick rather than yet another walk. Dogs travel free of charge and the whole group can stay together on the water.

The launches run both clockwise and anticlockwise, with summer services operating from late March to early November and a reduced winter timetable on selected dates. Special event cruises may have different rules, so it is worth checking if you are booking something beyond the standard timetabled service. Tickets are bought at the ticket office by the lake, or on board at any of the jetties around the lake.

The hop-on hop-off format opens up some excellent dog walks around Derwentwater — disembark at Hawes End for Catbells, or simply stay on board and let the lake views do the work. It is a relaxed, scenic outing that keeps paws and people together on the water.
