Kingston Lacy

Kingston Lacy is a grand National Trust estate just outside Wimborne Minster, well within day-trip range of Swanage. The 17th-century mansion sits within sweeping parkland and ancient woodland and dogs on leads are welcome to explore the car park, parkland paths, woodland walks and the Stables courtyard – plenty of ground to cover when you both need a proper stretch.

The house itself, formal garden and cafe interior are off-limits to ordinary dogs (assistance dogs excepted), but the outdoor areas offer real space and variety. The courtyard is a handy spot to catch your breath between loops and the parkland walks work well for sniff-heavy mornings or muddy-paw afternoons.

It's a solid choice when you want a bit of heritage scenery without leaving your dog circling the car park. Admission applies, as with most National Trust properties and there's on-site parking with EV charging available.
