Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Kiplin Hall & Gardens is a 17th-century historic house and estate near Richmond, with formal gardens, woodland walks and a dog-friendly café. Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout the grounds on a lead, making it an easy day out when the human half wants a proper heritage visit and the dog needs a decent leg-stretch. The Hall itself is off-limits to ordinary pet dogs, but the gardens and grounds offer plenty of exploring.
Your dog can join you in the café, so nobody needs to sit outside in the rain clutching a lukewarm tea while the rest of the group finishes their scones. Open six days a week from 10 am to 5 pm (closed Thursdays), with the 2026 season running from early February to late November.
Tickets can be purchased on arrival or booked in advance. It's a proper attraction with a clear dog policy and close enough to Scorton and Richmond for a civilised outing that keeps everyone happy.
